Whatever you and your family and friends enjoy – from traditional Christmas concerts, parades, and shows to outdoor ice skating to spectacular light displays, there is always something for everyone in Los Angeles. Let’s explore favorite holiday events and activities which await you.
Tis the Season For Outdoor Ice Skating
All around L.A. you’ll find a variety of outdoor ice skating venues open from November to January. You can choose from ice skating on a warm sunny afternoon with friends and family or enjoy a romantic skate with your special someone under the starry night sky. Either way, ice skating is a great activity to get everyone in the holiday spirit.
A Unique Holiday Experience at Universal Studios Hollywood
The young and the young-at-heart will enjoy the holiday festivities at Universal Studios Hollywood. Expansive holiday decorations provide the perfect backdrop for a Christmas celebration in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ or a Who-tacular Grinchmas™. At Hogwarts™ everyone will enjoy the sparkling holiday lights and musical holiday favorites followed by Holiday Fare and hot Butterbeer™ at Three Broomsticks™. Later, how about joining the Whos along with The Grinch™ and Max to light the giant Seussian Tree and sing along with the Who-ville singers.
Lights in the City
Holiday nights wouldn’t be complete without a visit to one (or more) of the many stunning light displays throughout the city. From classic tree lighting, grand illuminations, and festive decorations, the Holiday Lights of L.A. are not to be missed!
One of the most popular displays is at the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens, a perfect venue for some family fun! L.A. Zoo Lights boasts glowing animals, a disco ball forest, a twinkling tunnel, the world’s biggest light-up storybook, and so much more. You can even make a full day of zoo fun when you attend Winter Wild Weekends, where you’ll find a fantastic fair filled with one of a kind gift ideas, plus eco workshops, kids’ crafts, live music, photos with Santa, holiday presents for the animals, and snow flurries twice a day in the Holiday Village.
Another, equally popular light display takes place annually at Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Magic Mountain. With more than two million lights, the park also offers multiple holiday-themed areas to explore complete with live music and shows, amid falling snow in the awe-inspiring winter wonderland.
Spectacular Holiday at the Music Center
In downtown Los Angeles, you’ll find The Music Center, home to Ahmanson Theatre, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Mark Taper Forum and the Walt Disney Concert Hall. All season long, The Music Center hosts concerts and sing-along, culminating in the city’s Biggest Multicultural Holiday Celebration on December 24. This free event is sure to excite all the music lovers in your family!
Queen Mary Christmas – A Royal Holiday
A completely unique experience awaits you and your family aboard The Queen Mary where classic traditions meld with new tradition in royal holiday style. Twinkling lights welcome you to enjoy outdoor ice skating at the North Pole Village. Next enjoy a ride on the Queen Mary Express or the Grand Carousel. The Queen Mary experience promises live entertainment, holiday libations and sweet treats galore, as well as Santa and Mrs. Claus, of course!
Whatever you choose, there is no shortage of holiday magic to enjoy with family and friends in Los Angeles. Happy Holidays from The Barnes Firm!
